Curtis Wright Outfitters 2013 Hosted Yellowstone Trip
August 23rd, 2013 Day 3
So day 3 has come and gone and boy was it a good one! Jim did a wade trip with Satoshi from Park’s Fly Shop on the Soda Butte and were rewarded with some REALLY nice fish. One that easily reached 18″ (picture tomorrow) and most of the fishing was done with dries. A large portion of the group went in on horseback to the 3rd meadow for a chance at those beautiful fish.
We started the trip off with a distant Grizzly sighting and then proceeded in to the meadows of Slough Creek only to be greeted by a large road/trail block.
After moving out of the way, and letting us continue our journey, we arrived safe and sound and were welcomed by numerous fish rising with abandonment. We got geared up right quick and started giving them a hard time.
On the way out of the meadow, we were pounded by hail again. Enough to pile up on the ground at points.
Jeff, Susan, and Julie went on a hike and had a great time and scenery.
Chris and Chuck hit Pebble creek and fished up through the canyon a way and were pleasantly surprised with some nice chunky cuthroat and rainbows. Bob and Ken hit the Lamar and Yellowstone. Check back with us tomorrow to see how Saturday’s adventure turned out.
